Find out exactly what eBay will take from your next card sale before you list it. Enter your sold price, shipping and what you paid for the card, and this free eBay fee calculator shows the final value fee, the per-order fee, any promoted listing fee, your payout and your profit. It's built for sports cards, Pokémon and other trading card games, using eBay's current US fee rates for trading card categories.
Sports Trading Cards, Non-Sport Trading Cards and Collectible Card Games (Pokémon, Magic, One Piece and other TCGs) all use the same fee rules on eBay.com:
The part that surprises most card sellers: eBay calculates the final value fee on the total sale amount, which includes the shipping the buyer pays and the sales tax eBay collects. A $50 card with $4.99 shipping and 7% sales tax is charged fees on about $58.84, not $50. The calculator above includes this, so its numbers match your eBay invoice much more closely than a simple 13.25% of the sale price.
Sellers who fall to Below Standard pay an extra 6% on final value fees, so keeping your seller level up protects your margin too.
Example: what eBay takes on a $50 raw card
You sell a raw rookie card for $50 and charge $4.99 shipping. The buyer pays about 7% sales tax, so the total sale amount is $58.84.
If you paid $20 for the card and spent $4.75 on a bubble mailer, top loader and label, your profit is $22.04. The calculator also shows your break-even price, which here is $24.31. Sell for less than that and you lose money on the card.
Example: a $300 graded card with free shipping
A PSA 10 sells for $300 with free shipping and 7% sales tax, for a total sale amount of $321. Without a Store, the final value fee is $42.53, plus the $0.40 per-order fee, for $42.93 in fees. With a Basic Store or higher, the fee drops to $39.64, plus $0.40. That is about $2.89 saved on one card, which adds up fast if you sell graded cards every week.
How to keep more of every card sale
Spend less time on every listing
Fees are only part of the cost of selling cards. The other part is your time. SpeedyCardLister turns photos of raw or graded cards into eBay-ready listings, with the player, set, year, card number, variation and grading details filled in, up to 100 cards per batch. It suggests a price for each card, and you can check it with this calculator before you publish. See plans and pricing or how Speedy works.
eBay fee calculator FAQ
What percentage does eBay take on trading cards? For most sellers, 13.25% of the total sale amount up to $7,500, plus a $0.30 or $0.40 per-order fee. Sellers with a Basic Store or higher pay 12.35% up to $2,500. Once you add the per-order fee, most card sales end up around 14% to 15% of the price plus shipping.
Does eBay charge fees on shipping? Yes. The final value fee is based on the total the buyer pays, including shipping and handling.
Does eBay charge fees on sales tax? Yes. eBay includes the sales tax it collects in the total sale amount, even though the tax goes to the state, not to you.
Are fees different for Pokémon and other TCG cards? No. Collectible Card Games use the same rates as sports cards, so this calculator works for both.
Are fees different for graded cards? Graded cards in the trading card categories use the same rates. Very high-value cards get a lower 2.35% rate on the amount above the threshold.
Is this calculator exact? It is a close estimate. Sales tax varies by buyer location, and eBay can change its fees, so always check your eBay invoice for the final amount.
